Bona’s Ducati Ride to Puncak

Bona loves to use MotionX-GPS riding his Ducati through Indonesia. Here’s a story from his last ride to Puncak.

photo1

Last Monday my self and several Ducatisti friends did a short trip to Puncak, a mountainous area about 90km (55 miles) south of Jakarta. Puncak is very popular destination for weekend trip for people live in Jakarta and its surrounding area. With Puncak’s cool and fresh air Puncak is the only area close enough to get away from a hot and polluted air of Jakarta.

Remote Controlled Glider with MotionX-GPS

Cam has been flying his iPhone 3G with MotionX-GPS around Sydney.
175021
He picked up a MultiPlex Easy Glider Pro, strapped MotionX-GPS to the fuselage and took off.

Here are the stats and photos from his first flight.

Fly time (from pressing START) 11.45 mins
Max Alt 288m (about 950 feet)
Max Speed 108 km/h (about 67 mph)
Distance travelled 9km (4.8 miles)
Av speed 45 km/h (28 mph)

Once Cam landed his glider here’s what he had to say, “I then impressed a dude at the park by adding his email into the ’shared’ recipients of my flight log with MotionX-GPS & emailed it to him before even taking anything off the plane. This also copied to him the KMZ & GPZ files from the flight. I just figured out how you can import them into Google Earth & see the flight in detail & where I did the different speeds heights etc.”
See the track profile and his full post after the jump.

MotionX Poker Quest Review (5 of 5 Stars!)

MotionX-Poker Quest - 5 of 5 stars!Written by:  The iApple Blog

Yes… I know, I gave this app a perfect 5 out of 5 rating, but when you read this review, you will know why!

Developer: MotionX
Price: $2.99
Version Reviewed: 1.3
User Interface Rating: 5
Reuse/Replay Value: 5
Overall: 5

Even if you have never played poker, such as me, you will even enjoy this game. Playing this in the beginning, I did get a little confused, but shortly after I played for a while, I understood the game and it got very addicting!

When you load up the app, you will get a screen which you can either enter the game , or go and see your dice, see your treasures, your stats, or change some settings.

The game is based on Egypt, so expect things, such as music and the UI to be Egyptian-like.

Click here to read the rest of the review.

The competition is on: Who can reach 2 billion?

Colin sent the MotionX-Poker Quest team these screen shots. He has 1.5 billion coins, 25 treasures and has played MotionX-Poker Quest 157 hours for a total of over 14,000 hands!   Amazing!  We have a real competition – who can reach 2 billion coins first?

MotionX-GPS user testaments for OpenStreetMap from the App Store:

Canada:

“Amazing Toronto Map and no crashes to boot!” I picked this up after reading about it on Gizmodo. I expected a buggy execution but so far I’m amazed. The map of my city (Toronto) is so detailed it even has all the bike trails up the Don Valley and places I didn’t even know there were any! The level of detail is amazing. I’ve been using GPS for years and have units for hiking, car etc., and I have to say the Map data this unit uses tops Garmin’s, TomTom’s and Google’s data for Canada easily. A fantastic bargain for $3! (Compare that to the $90 I spent to have TomTom functionality on my old Treo.) I can’t wait to see what they do with OS3.0 !
