With so many poker games available in the iTunes App Store how do you know which one to buy? You read reviews like this one.
MotionX Poker is one of those poker games in the App Store. However, MotionX Poker is not your typical poker game. Think poker meets Yahtzee. You see, instead of using a deck of cards, you play with dice. You get three rolls of the dice to get the best hand possible to beat the dealer. Playing with dice is the key to making MotionX Poker so much fun. Instead of tapping cards, or waiting for cards to be dealt, you shake your iPod Touch/iPhone like you would as if you had real dice in your hands. When you stop shaking, the dice roll. This works perfectly, and is REALLY cool! Once your dice are rolled you choose what you want to keep and roll again, and again. As you play you can unlock other tables and other sets of dice. You can also win gems as you beat certain challenges.
With animation that uses the iPhone’s accelerometer and vibrate function for realistic results, this dice game is a solid, addictive addition. Plus, once you’re done earning a huge bankroll, you can use it as a dice generator for any standard dice game.

Having found myself fully caught up in the excitement of the iTunes App store launch, I have gone on a bit of a buying spree with the iPhone apps lately, and unfortunately, I have experienced quite a bit of buyer’s remorse as well. Especially with the games.
It isn’t so much that the games aren’t well made, or don’t do what they claim to, it’s just that for whatever reason, the replay value is just not there. That is why I feel compelled to tell you about a $5 app being offered at $3 for a limited time called MotionX Poker by Fullpower that I feel has given me $300 worth of replay enjoyment and promises more to come.
Poker is a very popular game whether you are in Las Vegas or at your friend’s house. If you want some poker action for your iPhone, you are in luck today. We are going to look at a game called MotionX Poker for the iPhone. This isn’t what you might expect a poker game to be, but it is a fantastic game.
I don’t like poker. I don’t like dice games. Yeah, I thought the same thing, but fortunately this game got so much attention and praise, I finally gave it a try. I suggest you do the same, even if you do not like poker or dice. MotionX Poker isn’t poker in the normal sense, but a simplified version, called dice poker. My first experience with the game is in a mini-game for the critically acclaimed RPG, The Witcher. Anyone can play it instantly, because it’s easy to get. Just to be sure, MotionX Poker even comes with detailed instructions, even giving you statistics on each hand you can win with.
You start out only being able to play on one table, but you unlock the rest by earning coins. Once you’ve earned enough coins, you can unlock another table.
This is the most polished, fun, and complete game I’ve played so far on the iPhone. fullpower uses their own physics and motion engine to simulate the rolling of the dice, and does it to superb effect. Not only does it look great, and realistic, but it sounds great and realistic. As the dice roll around on screen, the iPhone vibrates in tune with the rolling and rattling around of the dice. Each table, there are 5, each have their own particular surface, therefore sound different, depending on the material of the dice. Plastic dice on a wooden table, titanium dice on a felt table, wood dice on a metal table, and any combination thereof. They all have their own unique, realistic sounds.
I’ve spent part of the weekend downloading and trying out dozens of the more than 800 new third-party iPhone applications that launched with the debut of Apple’s (AAPL) “App store.” The store is part of the new iPhone 2.0 operating system, which not only comes with the new iPhone 3G, but is also a free upgrade on older iPhones and a $10 upgrade on the iPod Touch.
This Dice game is by far the coolest game I’ve seen, and it’s got amazing tech inside which takes advantage of the iPhone’s sensors like no other app. Here’s how it works: You shake the iPhone and it rolls the dice inside, which you use to play poker. But instead of using some dumb random number generator, it captures your hand’s motion and rolls simulated collisions between the virtual dice. This game is great but its just a sampling of the tech from Fullpower, the company Philippe Kahn, creator of the camera phone in 1997, has been developing in stealth for 5 years until today. Yes, this is the tip of a giant iceberg full of gadgets exactly aware of what we’re doing with them at all times.
